The car this place rented to us was a disgrace - an old rattletrap with 195000 km on the clock. Most people would have traded it in ten years ago. It had not been washed when we collected it and the previous occupant's debris was still in it. The windscreen was chipped and the spare wheel was bald. I could go on and on. When we booked, there was no warning that the car was old. Next time, I will hire in Adelaide.
Got there and the truck i was to grab had a flat battery. Nice one
Make sure you keep a record of any bookings or cancellations you make. I made the mistake of booking and cancelling by phone. There was a mix-up with the cancellation and I was subsequently charged for three days hire even though I didn't pick the car up. No one called me to find out why. Sadly, customer service is obviously not a big plus.
Hans and Terry are fantastic to deal with, nothing is too much trouble, and their prices are better than anyone else. The truck I hired was in excellent condition and they even let me use their trolleys, blankets and straps, thrown in without charge. I won't hesitate to go there again and highly recommend Gawler Car & Truck Rentals. Thanks guys for your great service. Kerin Swavley.
